Convert PUB to PDF: every option after Publisher's October 2026 retirement

There are four realistic ways to turn a .pub file into a PDF. Here's each one and where it goes wrong — including for the option you're reading this on.

If you still have a working copy of Publisher, the best converter is the one you already own: open the file and use File → Export → Create PDF/XPS. (Publisher 2010 keeps it under Save & Send; anything older can't make a PDF on its own.) The output is pixel-perfect because it's Publisher itself doing the rendering. Do this for your most important files while you still can.

For everyone without Publisher, the choices are LibreOffice Draw on your own computer (free, private, fiddly, and fonts are your problem), a web converter like this one (fast, nothing to install, and a good one tells you what changed), or asking someone who still has Publisher to export for you. The catch all three share is fonts: if the computer doing the converting doesn't have yours, the PDF won't either. That's why every file converted here comes with a note naming anything that changed — read it before you trust the result.
